Job summary

San Antonio Aerospace is seeking an entry-level aircraft mechanic to perform mechanical maintenance and repair on commercial aircraft. The role involves working under supervision to support removal/installation, lubrication, and learning AMMs and IPC procedures.

The ideal candidate should have basic understanding of aircraft systems, be mechanically inclined, and be prepared for hands-on training in a high-demand maintenance environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Six months aircraft maintenance experience preferred.
  • A P license or specialized training preferred.

JOB SUMMARY:

Entry level mechanic responsible for mechanical maintenance and repair on commercial aircraft types.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Basic understanding of aircraft systems
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Assist in basic component removal / installations
  • Assist in lubrication
  • Gain a basic understanding of AMMs / IPC
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Working knowledge or ability to acquire skills in the following:

  • Safety wiring
  • A/C wash rack/cleaning procedures
  • A/C lube procedures
  • Hydraulic servicing procedures
  • A/C marshalling
  • Basic safety procedures
  • General knowledge of all aircraft manuals and other required materials
  • Additional functions as outlined by OJT sheet
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

SUPERVISION: Under the general direction of a supervisor. Normally performs duties after receiving general instructions as to methods, procedures, and desired end results. There is some opportunity for discretion when making selections among a few, easily identifiable choices. The assignment is usually reviewed upon completion. INTERPERSONAL RELATION: A moderate level of interpersonal skills is required to maintain an effective relationship with co-workers and supervision. PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT: Requires easy mobility around various sections of aircraft and the dexterity to remove and replace parts in a timely manner. Requires mental skills and quickness with the ability to cope with stress and intense effort or exertion usually caused by long working hours. Must have the capacity to gain knowledge by hearing for one’s own safety due to the dangers involved. The working environment requires standing 90 of the workday on hard surfaces. Must be able to lift 50lbs. and report to work regularly.
