Job summary

Indian Hills Residences is seeking a skilled Make Ready Technician to prepare vacant apartment units for new residents, focusing on interior painting, drywall repair, patching, and finishing work.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of hands-on experience, excels at delivering high-quality workmanship within turnover timelines, and can work independently while coordinating with property management to meet standards.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on apartment make-ready experience.
• Strong proficiency in interior painting, including surface prep, priming, cutting in, rolling, touch-ups.
• Experience with drywall installation and repair, including patching holes, taping, mudding, sanding, texturing.
• Ability to identify and repair wall/ceiling imperfections, cracks, nail holes, water damage.
• Experience preparing vacant units for occupancy within turnover timelines.
• Ability to safely operate painting equipment, ladders, and other tools.
• Strong attention to detail with commitment to quality workmanship and property standards.

Responsibilities

• Interior painting of vacant apartment units (walls, ceilings, doors, trim, baseboards).
• Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, scraping, sanding, caulking, patching, and priming.
• Apply paint with brushes, rollers, or spraying equipment for professional finishes.
• Complete paint touch-ups and full repaints per standards.
• Protect floors, counters, fixtures, and appliances from paint damage.
• Maintain and clean painting tools and equipment.
• Repair damaged drywall: holes, cracks, dents, water damage.
• Patch, tape, mud, sand, and texture to finish surfaces.
• Match textures and prepare ready-for-prime surfaces.
• Inspect units during turnovers and address deficiencies.
• Ensure units are clean and ready for move-in inspections.
