Job summary

Conifer Realty in Coram, NY is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep our affordable housing communities safe and well maintained. You’ll perform preventative maintenance, participate in grounds upkeep, and respond to urgent work orders, including on-call rotation.

The role requires 2+ years of maintenance experience, a high school diploma or GED, and good communication skills. Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus. We offer opportunities for growth and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of apartment/residential or facilities maintenance experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally.
• Reliable transportation and willingness to cover overtime.
• Basic computer or mobile-app skills for work orders and timekeeping.
• Strong communication and customer-service skills.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventative maintenance, including painting, drywall, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and cleaning.
• Maintain grounds and curb appeal through landscaping, snow/ice removal, and seasonal upkeep.
• Respond quickly to work orders and rotate for on-call coverage (respond within 30 minutes).
• Follow safety, property, and inspection standards with precision.
• Work closely with peers and residents, showing empathy and pride in repairs.
