Conifer Realty in Coram, NY is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician for affordable housing communities. You will perform routine and preventative maintenance across apartments, grounds, and common areas, including painting, drywall, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical tasks.

Ideal candidates bring 2+ years of experience, a high school diploma or GED, the ability to lift up to 100 lbs, reliable transportation, basic computer skills for work orders, and strong customer-service mindset;

Qualifications

• 2+ years of apartment/residential maintenance experience (painting, drywall, plumbing, electrical, flooring; HVAC experience a plus).
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally.
• Reliable transportation and flexibility to cover overtime or nearby communities when needed.
• Basic computer or mobile-app skills for work orders, timekeeping, and training (we'll train you!).
• Strong communication and customer-service skills
• Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventative maintenance, including painting, drywall, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and cleaning.
• Care for the grounds with landscaping, snow/ice removal, and seasonal upkeep.
• Respond to work orders promptly and rotate for on-call coverage (respond within 30 minutes).
• Follow safety, property, and inspection standards with precision.
