Conifer Realty is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our Ithaca, NY properties. This role focuses on keeping affordable housing safe, secure, and well-maintained, ensuring residents feel cared for in their homes.

You will perform routine maintenance, respond to work orders, and support grounds upkeep. We value teamwork, strong service orientation, and flexibility to cover overtime when needed.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of apartment, residential, or facilities maintenance experience.
• A high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally.
• Reliable transportation and willingness to cover overtime or nearby communities.
• Basic computer or mobile-app skills for work orders, timekeeping, and training.
• Strong communication and customer-service skills.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventative maintenance including painting, drywall, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and cleaning.
• Maintain grounds and curb appeal through landscaping, snow/ice removal, and seasonal upkeep.
• Respond to work orders promptly and rotate for emergency on-call coverage (within 30 minutes).
• Follow safety, property, and inspection standards with precision.
• Collaborate with peers and residents, showing empathy and pride in every repair.
