Job summary

JBG SMITH in Arlington, VA is seeking a Maintenance Technician to upkeep our apartment communities. You will diagnose and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical and carpentry issues, respond to resident requests, and perform preventative maintenance to ensure top-tier living environments. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and 2 years of maintenance experience.

A valid driver's license and ability to lift 50 pounds are needed. On-call duties and a flexible schedule apply.

Qualifications

• High-school diploma or equivalent with 2 years of maintenance experience in apartments, hotels, or similar settings.
• Ability to diagnose and repair HVAC equipment; knowledge of plumbing, basic electrical, carpentry; proficient with power and hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist in making units ready for move-in.
• Respond to resident work orders to diagnose and fix HVAC, appliance, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry issues.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on building systems.
• Inspect the community daily for maintenance needs.
• Clear snow and ice during inclement weather.
• Work a flexible schedule and on-call duties with 30-minute emergency responses.
