Job summary

Legend Management Group is seeking a Junior Building Engineer to support maintenance across our apartment communities in Virginia. You will assist the Service Manager with turns, routine repairs, preventative maintenance, and curb appeal to assure tenant satisfaction.

The role requires strong customer service, a safety-minded approach, and willingness to work evenings or weekends. A high school diploma and 2+ years of related experience are expected, with a valid driver’s license and EPA HVAC

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of facilities, residential, or multi-family maintenance experience (supervisory experience a plus).
• Experience with boilers/cooling towers and water source heat pump is a plus or willingness to learn.
• HVAC certification (CFC Universal) is preferred.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Provide maintenance assistance to ensure resident satisfaction.
• Lead by example and uphold company standards and values.
• Respond to maintenance requests for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and appliances.
• Perform initial diagnostics and troubleshoot service requests.
• Maintain records in maintenance software.
• Manage make-ready and turnover to enable leasing and move-ins.
• Contribute to preventative maintenance programs and site upkeep.
• Support vendor relations and pricing negotiations.
• Assist with team scheduling and service coordination.
• Stay current with industry trends and training.
