Job summary

JBG SMITH is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician to uphold the highest standards of service across our apartment communities. You will respond to resident work orders, diagnose and repair HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical and carpentry issues, and perform routine preventive maintenance.

Responsibilities include inspecting grounds daily, clearing snow in bad weather, and joining a flexible on-call schedule to respond to emergencies within 30 minutes. A valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• High-school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2 years of maintenance experience in apartments, hotels, or similar environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in making units ready for move-in.
• Respond to resident work orders and diagnose/repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical and carpentry issues.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on building systems.
• Inspect the community daily for maintenance needs.
• Clear snow and ice during inclement weather.
• Work a flexible schedule and participate in on-call duty with 30-minute emergency response.
