Job summary

R&R Realty Group is seeking an Apartment Maintenance Technician in West Des Moines, IA to keep communities in top condition. You will inspect and maintain common areas, exteriors, roofs, and resident units, while delivering prompt, friendly service on work orders and repairs.

You’ll help ready apartments for move-ins, assist with snow removal, and support pool safety and on-call coverage. A driver’s license and a customer-first attitude are essential, with training provided for basic maintenance

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Availability for rotating weekend and after-hours on-call coverage.
• A customer-first attitude and pride in doing the job right.
• Basic maintenance experience is a plus, but we’re happy to train the right person.
• Bonus points for skills in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, or appliance repair.

Responsibilities

• Keep the community in great shape by inspecting and maintaining common areas, exteriors, roofs, mechanical rooms, supply closets, and resident apartments, working with your Team Leader and Property Manager.
• Take care of residents with prompt, friendly service on work orders and repairs.
• Get apartments move-in ready by completing repairs and turns on vacant units.
• Handle winter like a pro by helping clear snow at assigned properties by 7:30 a.m. and keeping an eye on snow vendors.
• Keep the pool safe and inviting by earning and maintaining a pool operator certification.
• Stay organized by documenting work orders within 24 hours, including a follow-up plan for longer jobs.
• Share on-call coverage for weekends and after hours on a rotating basis.
• Travel between properties as needed and follow Fair Housing and applicable Tax Credit requirements.
