Job summary

Preferred Apartment Communities is seeking an on-site Maintenance Technician for The Palmer at Las Colinas in Irving, TX. The role operates within a bustling apartment community, performing preventative and corrective maintenance, servicing appliances, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and pool systems, and ensuring resident comfort and safety.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of maintenance experience, strong troubleshooting skills, a refrigeration certification or plan to obtain it within 90 days,

Qualifications

• 1-3 years maintenance experience required.
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills preferred.
• Refrigeration certification (type 2 or universal) or ready to obtain within 90 days.
• Valid driver's license with clean record.

Responsibilities

• Assist in all maintenance requests and preventative maintenance for the community.
• Complete service work orders for appliances, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, gates, and pool operations.
• Respond to emergency maintenance after hours as needed.
• Prepare vacant apartments to be rent-ready.
• Maintain and organize the maintenance shop and inventory.
• Log service requests and updates in the database.
• Monitor contractor performance and support the Maintenance Manager with budgeting.
