Job summary

CAPREIT's The Simone Apartments in Silver Spring, MD is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead the upkeep of an affordable housing lease-up community. You will troubleshoot, repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliances, and coordinate service requests.

You will recruit and mentor maintenance staff, respond to on-call emergencies, and ensure a safe, well-maintained home for residents, with opportunities to shape operations from day one.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of apartment maintenance experience.
• Valid HVAC Certification (Type I & II or Universal) required.
• Experience leading and developing maintenance teams.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for on-call emergencies.
• Ability to provide and maintain personal basic maintenance tools.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, and general building maintenance.
• Strong computer literacy and basic technology skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Lead the maintenance and upkeep of the community by troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, appliances, building interiors and exteriors, and other essential components.
• Manage service requests, schedule apartment turns, maintain inventory, order supplies, coordinate contractors, and implement preventative maintenance programs.
• Recruit, train, mentor, and supervise maintenance staff, fostering accountability, teamwork, safety, and service.
• Provide outstanding customer service and timely solutions in collaboration with office staff, residents, and vendors.

Responsibilities

Keep the Community Running at Its Best

Lead the maintenance and upkeep of the community by troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, appliances, building interiors and exteriors, and other essential property components.
