CONAM Management Corporation is seeking a Business Manager (Assistant Community Manager) for Monterey Road Apts in San Jose, CA. The role combines on-site accounting with leasing duties and requires stepping in as person-in-charge when the Community Manager is away.

The position is full-time with full benefits and an hourly pay range of $24.00 to $26.00. Required experience includes HUD/LIHTC/Section 8 familiarity and strong resident-service focus.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years in affordable apartment communities with leasing and financial duties.
• Experience with HUD, LIHTC, and Section 8 is required.
• Strong ability to manage day-to-day operations of a multi-family property.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and rent processing.
• Support asset management through budgets, reports, and cost control.
• Oversee leasing from inquiry to move-in and ensure a positive move-in experience.
• Maintain resident files and ensure policy compliance.
• Assist with marketing to fill vacancies and achieve high occupancy.
• Conduct tours, process applications, and handle resident inquiries.
• Provide excellent customer service and address resident concerns.
• Document move-ins/outs and enforce community policies.
• Collaborate with Community Manager to ensure compliance with fair housing.
• Perform general office tasks and organize resident events.
• Act as person-in-charge in Community Manager’s absence.
