Breakaway Prep is seeking a passionate history tutor to work with motivated middle and high school students in a supportive, professional environment in New Jersey. The role emphasizes one-on-one AP/HS history instruction with flexible scheduling and an emphasis on measurable student outcomes.

Experience tutoring AP US/World/European History is preferred; candidates should have reliable transportation and a strong track record of student success.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience tutoring or teaching AP US History, AP World History, and/or AP European History.
• Competitive educational background.
• Has reliable transportation.
• Passion for teaching high school students and strong social skills.
• Experience with AP history curriculum and AP exam preparation preferred.
• Multiple positive recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Tutor AP US History, AP World History, and AP European History for high school students.
• Provide one-on-one instruction and help students build confidence.

Job Summary:

Looking for Part-Time Tutors

Are you an experienced history tutor or teacher looking to work with motivated students in a supportive, professional environment? Do you have a strong track record working with students in Middle School and High School? Do you enjoy one-on-one instruction and helping students build confidence and get measurable results?

Breakaway is seeking a passionate and engaging history tutor to help students with AP and Honors US, European, and World History coursework and exam preparation. Tutors who join our team are able to set their own schedules for one-on-one sessions. Compensation starts at $40 per hour, commensurate with experience.

About Us:

Breakaway Prep is a boutique tutoring business based in Chatham, NJ with offices in Summit, Millburn, Maplewood, Livingston, Morristown, Berkeley Heights, and Montclair. We primarily work with students in grades 7–12, providing instruction for the SAT, ACT, ISEE/SSAT, AP exams, as well as specific academic subjects like history.

Responsibilities:
