Job summary

Breakaway Prep LLC in Chatham, NJ is seeking experienced math tutors to work in our in-person offices. Tutors set their own schedules for one-on-one sessions, with compensation starting at $30 per hour. Ideal candidates have 1+ year of tutoring Math and hold a Bachelor’s Degree.

Selected tutors will help students in grades 7–12 with SAT/ACT prep and other academic subjects, while demonstrating reliability, effective communication, and a passion for education.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience tutoring or teaching Math (Pre-Algebra, Algebra I & II, Geometry, Pre-calculus, and/or Calculus)
• Bachelor's Degree
• Has reliable transportation
• Passion for teaching middle and high school students and strong social skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Multiple positive references
• Experience with SAT and/or ACT test preparation preferred (training provided for strong candidates)
• Ability to pass a background check

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one math tutoring to Middle and High School students.
• Help students build confidence and achieve measurable results.

Are you an experienced tutor or teacher looking to work with motivated students in a supportive, professional environment? Do you have a strong track record working with students in Middle School and High School? Do you enjoy one-on-one instruction and helping students build confidence and get measurable results?

Breakaway is seeking passionate and sociable Math tutors available to work at multiple offices. Tutors who join our team set their own schedules for one-on-one sessions. Compensation starts at $30 per hour. The ideal candidate is reliable, understanding, and has a passion for education.

About Us:

Breakaway Prep is a boutique tutoring and test prep company based in Chatham, NJ, with offices in Summit, Millburn, Maplewood, Livingston, Morristown, Westfield, Berkeley Heights, and Montclair. We primarily work with students in grades 7–12, providing instruction for the SAT, ACT, ISEE/SSAT, AP exams, as well as specific academic subjects.

Requirements:

1. 1+ years of experience tutoring or teaching Math (Pre-Algebra, Algebra I & II, Geometry, Pre-calculus, and/or Calculus)
