Children’s Rescue Fund in Bronx, NY is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to lead and strengthen the organization’s AP function.

The ideal candidate will supervise AP staff, ensure compliant, coded expenses, and manage vendor relationships across government-funded programs. A hands‑on accounting professional with not-for-profit experience and strong controls will collaborate with Finance, Budget & Contracts, and senior management to support audits and timely payments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years progressive accounts payable/accounting experience in a high‑volume operation.
• Prior supervisory/management experience preferred.
• Not‑for‑profit accounting experience preferred.
• Experience in human services, shelter, or government‑funded environment desirable.
• NYC DHS/DSS or similar government contracting experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of AP, GL, accruals, reconciliations, expense allocations and internal controls.
• CPA or MBA is not required; practical accounting knowledge valued.

Responsabilités

• Manage day‑to‑day operations of the Accounts Payable department and supervise AP staff.
• Oversee the complete accounts payable cycle from receipt through payment and reconciliation.
• Ensure invoices are properly supported, authorized, coded, allocated, and charged to the correct program/site.
• Maintain strong controls over ACH payments, checks, electronic payments, vendor changes, and other disbursements.
• Work with Budget & Contracts and senior management to ensure expenses for government programs are allowable and documented.
