Job summary

CFS is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Manager in Oak Brook, Illinois, to lead a seven-person AP team during a pivotal transition. The role focuses on AP operations, process improvements, and internal controls within a large-scale distribution environment.

You will drive team development, manage day-to-day AP activities, and partner with Procurement and Finance to resolve vendor issues while upholding governance standards.

Qualifications

• Accounts Payable leadership experience managing a sizable team.
• Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or large-volume operational environments.
• Strong background in AP operations and process improvement.
• Experience partnering with Procurement and Finance teams.
• Hands-on management style with willingness to dive into day-to-day operations.
• Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 7 Accounts Payable professionals
• Monitor workload distribution and team coverage
• Foster engagement, accountability, and strong team performance
• Serve as the primary escalation point for AP-related issues
• Oversee trade payable processes and daily AP operations
• Ensure timely and accurate invoice processing and payment activity
• Partner with Procurement to resolve vendor and payment issues
• Maintain compliance with company policies and financial controls
• Strengthen internal controls and segregation of duties
• Ensure compliance with audit and governance requirements
• Identify operational risks and implement corrective actions
