Job summary

Chicago Public Schools (CPS) is seeking a Manager, Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate (IB) to lead AP/IB teams and align support with CPS Instructional Core Vision. The role reports to the Director, Advanced Learning and Specialty Programs, and focuses on equitable access and student success.

The position requires a ISBE teaching certificate, five years of education experience, and strong leadership.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required.
ISBE teaching certificate with content and grade endorsement is required (reciprocal license possible with ISBE licensure within 6 months).
LBSI, ESL, or bilingual endorsement preferred.
Five years of relevant professional education experience required, including classroom teaching and leadership.

Responsibilities

Supervise and develop a high-functioning team and meet deadlines.
Contribute to strategic planning around AP/IB initiatives and professional learning.
Collaborate with Program Managers to reflect a coherent district-wide vision.
Facilitate regular meetings with AP/IB coordinators to identify priority areas.
Engage in progress monitoring and feedback to improve equity and access.
Provide subject matter expertise on district-wide initiatives, including RFPs and resource development.
Stay current on research, practices, and innovation in the field.
