Job summary

City of Houston is seeking a STAFF ANALYST in the Finance department to support accounts payable coordination and the SAP Ariba invoice process. The role includes training, audit liaison, and preparing AP reports to improve centralized processes.

You will work with the Senior Division Manager to streamline AP workflows, develop training materials, and ensure accuracy across multiple departments. A Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of related experience are required.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration or a field directly related to the type of work being performed.
• Three years of professional administrative, financial or analytical experience related to the type of work being performed are required.
• Graduate degrees related to the type of work to be performed may substitute for the experience requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and review AP procedures with the Senior Division Manager (SDM).
• Assist with SAP Ariba invoice process implementations and other new processes.
• Provide Citywide SAP training for AP Module and perform access reviews.
• Serve as liaison for external and internal audits on AP items.
• Prepare weekly, monthly, and yearly AP reports.
• Maintain AP shared mailboxes and AP logs.
• Manage the Ariba mailbox and resolve invoicing issues post go-live.
• Create and maintain AP templates (reconciliations, communications).
• Train new employees related to FIN-AP processes.
• Develop and update AP training manual and processes.
