Job summary

Fulgent Therapeutics LLC is seeking a board-certified pathologist to interpret surgical pathology, cytology, and frozen sections and to electronically release cases.

The role involves gross examination, QA/QC participation, and consultation with clinicians to guide diagnosis and treatment, with regional travel across Texas. Applicants must hold an unrestricted medical license and meet CME requirements.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy required.
• Unrestricted medical license in the state of practice (and applicable states).
• Board certification in anatomic or clinical pathology (or equivalent).
• Minimum of 3 years pathology experience in a community hospital setting.
• Subspecialty board certification in cytopathology or gynecologic pathology preferred.
• Pre‑employment color discrimination test required.
• Maintain CME compliance and medical staff membership/Privileges.

Responsibilities

• Interpret tissue sections and body fluids using light, electron, and fluorescence microscopy.
• Provide diagnoses and pathology reports.
• Consult with referring physicians and guide test utilization/treatment.
• Participate in proficiency testing and intra-departmental meetings to ensure diagnostic accuracy.
• May train staff and students in specimen processing.
• May perform on‑call duties and coordinate with pathology staff across sites.
