EFG Company in Irving, TX seeks a Manager, Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable to lead the AR and AP teams and ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and effectiveness of end-to-end cash management.

The role oversees billing, collections, cash application, reconciliations, month-end close, and internal controls, while developing a high-performing team and managing the 1099 process.

Experience with GAAP and ERP systems (NetSuite or Dynamics GP) is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field.
• 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience with AR/AP focus.
• 3–5 years of leadership or supervisory experience.
• Working knowledge of GAAP and accounting software.
• Experience with NetSuite or Dynamics GP and/or AS400 systems; 1099 filing preferred.
• Strong computer and business software skills, including Excel.

Overview

The Manager, Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable leads the AR and AP teams and is accountable for the accuracy, timeliness, and effectiveness of the company’s end-to-end cash management processes, from invoice processing and collections through month-end close. This role ensures strong internal controls, reliable financial reporting, and a well-developed, high-performing team.

Responsibilities

• Oversees day-to-day accounts payable, accounts receivable, and project accounting functions, ensuring transactions are processed accurately and on time.
• Supports month-end close by preparing and reviewing AR/AP reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries to ensure accurate financial statements.
• Addresses performance issues promptly and makes recommendations on personnel actions, including hiring, discipline, and termination, in partnership with Human Resources.
• Motivates, develops, and rewards team members, including recommending salary increases, bonuses (as applicable), and promotions within allocated budgets and company guidelines.
• Manages vendor payment runs and relationships, ensuring compliance with approval policies and payment terms.
• Oversees billing, collections, and cash application; monitors receivables aging and leads efforts to reduce past-due balances.
• Maintains and strengthens internal controls over AR and AP processes and supports internal and external audits.
• Oversees annual 1099 reporting and ensures compliance with applicable tax and regulatory requirements.
• Identifies and implements process and system improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.

Prepares AR/AP and cash flow reporting for senior management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field preferred; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
• 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, with a focus on accounts payable and/or accounts receivable
• 3–5 years of leadership or supervisory experience
• Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and accounting software
• Experience with NetSuite or Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains 2010), and/or AS400 systems, as well as 1099 filing, preferred
• Strong computer and business software skills, including Microsoft Excel
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with accountants, clients, and senior management
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for working with team members and management at all levels
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Effective presentation skills, with the ability to explain accounting principles to internal and external clients
• Strong planning and organizational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
