Springborn Staffing seeks an experienced Accountant for a temporary 10-12 week assignment in the Greater Portland area. The role covers payroll, A/P, A/R, reconciliations, financial reporting, month-end close, and audit support.

The candidate will work closely with leadership to maintain accurate records, support budgeting, and ensure compliance with reporting requirements. This is a hands-on, full-cycle position with potential for a permanent hire for the right fit.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5-7 years of accounting and bookkeeping experience.
• Knowledge of GAAP.
• Experience with general ledger accounting, spreadsheets, databases, and word processing software.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple responsibilities.
• High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with payroll, benefits administration, and HR-related functions.
• Familiarity with grant accounting and government reporting requirements preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Administer payroll, payroll tax deposits, tax reporting, and related filings.
• Manage accounts receivable functions, including billing, collections, dispute resolution, and account setup.
• Process accounts payable, requisitions, and purchase orders.
• Reconcile financial reports and deposit funds.
• Assist with preparation, implementation, and monitoring of operating and capital budgets.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and related reports.
• Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Enter and maintain financial and grant-related data.
• Monitor cash flow and perform monthly bank reconciliations.
• Support annual audit preparation and auditor requests.
• Administer retirement and benefit programs, including enrollments, terminations, and contributions.
• Prepare required financial and regulatory reports.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and efficiencies.
• Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
