Job summary

Mercury Systems seeks a Quality Inspector to verify PCB assemblies in a defense/aerospace setting. You will perform in-process visual checks, provide real-time feedback, and document discrepancies to ensure first-pass quality. This role requires IPC knowledge, soldering ability under a microscope, and collaboration with a fast-paced team.

Hours are 2:30pm-12am. Experience with Koh Young AOI and strict adherence to ESD/PPE/FOD standards are essential for success in this position.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and IPC knowledge are required.
• 2–3 years of experience in hand soldering on PCBs.
• Meticulous hand-eye coordination for soldering on complex boards.
• Ability to communicate openly to provide real-time feedback.
• Customer-focused with a zero-defect mindset.
• Knowledge of IPC-A-610 and IPC-J-STD-001 standards.
• Ability to solder using a microscope for long periods.
• Soldering test may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-process visual verification to assure quality.
• Provide real-time feedback to operators and document discrepancies.
• Conduct inspections, production readiness, and guidance to team members.
• Operate Koh Young AOI equipment and adhere to IPC standards.
• Maintain documentation, perform line audits, and ensure tooling is compliant.
• Escalate systemic issues to leadership and engineering teams.
• Follow ESD, PPE, and FOD prevention procedures.
• Solder as needed following IPC 7711/7721 when required.
