Job summary

J T is seeking a 2nd Shift AOI Operator to inspect PCB assemblies with automated optical equipment in a high‑reliability EMS environment. You will load programs, evaluate test results, and log defects to support high first-pass yield.

Responsibilities include setting up AOI systems, feeding correct recipes, logging issues in the MES/Aegis MIS, and escalating line defects. The role demands attention to detail, teamwork, and strict adherence to ESD and 5S standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 0–3 years electronics assembly/SMT/optical inspection experience.
• IPC-A-610 certification required or ability to obtain upon hire.
• Component identification training including passive components, ICs and polarity markings.
• Basic computer literacy and familiarity with Shop Floor Tracking / MIS (Aegis preferred).
• High visual acuity and attention to detail for fine-pitch inspection.
• Strong teamwork, listening and problem-solving under time pressure.
• Adherence to 5S, ESD protocols, PPE, and SDS.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor AOI systems per SOPs and production schedules.
• Load inspection programs/recipes for specific part numbers and revisions.
• Safely load, align, run, and unload PCBs through AOI conveyor with care.
• Review and classify inspection flags: missing parts, misplacements, polarity, tombstoning, solder issues.
• Log defects and dispositions into MES/Shop Floor Tracking (Aegis MIS).
• Troubleshoot minor machine feed issues; escalate major defects or equipment errors.
• Communicate quality feedback to SMT operators and line leads.
• Maintain shift throughput and adhere to safety, 5S standards.
