Job Description:A growing remote tax and accounting firm is seeking an Operations Manager to lead its tax preparation and accounting departments and support the firm’s ability to grow while maintaining operational excellence. This role is essential for ensuring efficient workflows, strong team performance, and consistently high-quality client service as the firm scales. This fully remote role offers consistent, year-round full-time hours and the chance to make a direct impact on a growing team.

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of the tax and accounting departments
- Create and improve policies, procedures, and systems to enhance workflow and service delivery
- Manage, coach, and support a team of remote tax preparers and accountants
- Track performance against key metrics and drive improvements where needed
- Ensure compliance with tax laws, deadlines, and quality standards
- Manage client onboarding and communication
- Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., sales, marketing, technology)
- Administer and optimize use of accounting and workflow software
- Deliver operational reports and recommendations to leadership
- Maintain department budget and staffing resources
- Resolve escalated issues and ensure client satisfaction
- Lead continuous improvement efforts across departments
Skills Necessary:
- Proven experience in operations management (preferably in a tax or accounting firm)
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Effective organizational, planning, and problem-solving abilities
- Experience using data to assess and improve performance
- Excellent communication skills with a client service mindset
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced remote environment
- Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methods is a plus
- Exposure to EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) is a plus
