Job summary

Behavioral Health Associates is seeking a part-time RN/LPN to support students and staff at our Pottsville location. Provide healthcare services, screen health, coordinate referrals, and act as a liaison between school personnel, families, and community providers.

Responsibilities include creating student care plans, immunization monitoring, infection control, medication oversight, and delivering health teachings. CPR certified, valid RN/LPN license, and driver's license required, BSN preferred.

Job description

Behavioral Health Associates (BHA) is an educational organization. We offer an academic learning environment integrated with behavior support services for students diagnosed with emotional/behavioral disorders to empower the students in overcoming challenges and creating new stories in their lives.

BHA has an anticipated opening for a part-time RN / LPN for our new Pottsville Location to serve both students and staff.

JOB GOAL

Provide healthcare to students and staff. Perform health screenings. Coordinate referrals to private healthcare providers. Serve as liaisons between school personnel, family, and community healthcare providers to ensure a healthy school environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop plans for student care based on assessment, interventions, and identification of outcomes, and the evaluation of care.
• Serving as consultants with other school professionals.
• Provide health-related education to students and staff in both individual and group settings.
• Monitor immunizations, managing communicable diseases, and assessing the school environment as to prevent injury and ensure safety.
• Oversee infection control measures.
• Actively participate in school safety plans that address school violence, bullying, and emergencies that may occur at school.
• Overseeing medication administration, health care procedures, and the development of healthcare plans.
• Overseeing vision, hearing, body mass index, and mental health screening procedures.
• Making decisions related to the delegation of healthcare tasks as directed by state laws and professional practice guidance.
• Providing health advice to school staff.
• Assist families with locating outside care and obtaining health insurance.
• Other duties as assigned by Administration.

• Smoking prevention and cessation
• Substance use and abuse

QUALIFICATIONS

• Valid Certification as an RN or LPN
• Valid Driver's License
• CPR certification
• BSN preferred
  
• Ability to effectively communicate with parents, faculty, staff, and administration regarding student progress and needs.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Utilize effective verbal and written expression.
