Job summary

Anthropic is seeking a Research Scientist in Life Sciences (Large Molecules, Process Development) to lead antibody process development and manufacturing work in the SF Bay Area. You will express, purify, characterize, and formulate antibodies and integrate AI-driven hypotheses with experimental data.

Develop end-to-end expression and purification workflows, assess manufacturability, plan CMC for IND-enabling studies, and collaborate across biology, AI research, and life sciences teams.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in antibody process development and manufacturing.
• Hands-on lab work on IND-enabling or clinical studies with recombinant proteins.
• Experience expressing, purifying, characterizing, and formulating antibodies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and run expression and purification processes for antibodies and recombinant proteins end to end.
• Characterize products with analytical panels (SEC, CE-SDS, icIEF, LC-MS, DLS, thermal stability).
• Plan CMC path toward IND‑enabling studies and coordinate tech transfer with contract manufacturers.
• Ensure high-quality data with batch records, methods, and raw data.

Education

PhD in biochemical engineering
