Job summary

Cartography Biosciences is seeking a Principal Scientist or Associate Director to lead developability and protein sciences for bispecific/multispecific antibodies. Hybrid role onsite in South San Francisco, with bench time as part of the work.

You will own biophysical screening, expression and purification, and guide program decisions with cross-functional teams while mentoring a small group of scientists. The role supports an AI-driven antibody engineering platform.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with bispecific/multispecific antibodies and analysis of product-related species.
• Proven ability to translate biophysical data into candidate selection decisions.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and mentoring scientists.
• Experience with mammalian transient expression and multi-step purification.
• Familiarity with automation and AI-enabled data workflows is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead developability and biophysical characterization for antibody programs.
• Own production scale and purification processes, including Protein A and polishing steps.
• Drive program decisions with cross-functional teams and leadership.
• Mentor scientists and help grow the protein sciences function.
• Build data pipelines and automation to support AI/ML antibody engineering.
