Powerus seeks an Antenna Design Engineer to design and integrate antennas for handheld controllers and aircraft datalinks.

You will work on embedded and external antennas, simulate performance in enclosures, and collaborate with mechanical teams on enclosure integration.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in electrical or computer engineering or related field, or equivalent.
• Experience designing antennas for production products.
• Experience with EM simulation tools such as Ansys HFSS or CST.
• Experience with antenna measurement and vector network analyzers (VNAs).
• Must be located in the United States, within commuting distance of Rock Hill, SC, and U.S. Person status required.

This role designs the antennas for Powerus handheld controllers and the aircraft they control, including integration into enclosures and airframes.

Position Overview

Powerus is seeking an Antenna Design Engineer to design and integrate antennas for Powerus handheld controllers and aircraft datalinks.

Key Responsibilities

• Design embedded and external antennas for handheld controllers and aircraft
• Simulate antenna performance in the enclosure, including the effect of the user's hands and body
• Design antenna diversity and placement to maintain the link through aircraft maneuvers
• Measure gain, efficiency, and radiation patterns in anechoic chambers
• Work with mechanical engineering on enclosure materials, placement, and cable routing
• Support radiated EMC and regulatory testing

Qualifications

• Must be located in the United States, within commuting distance of Rock Hill, SC
• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
• Professional experience designing antennas for production products
• Experience with electromagnetic simulation tools such as Ansys HFSS or CST
• Experience with antenna measurement and vector network analyzers
• Working knowledge of electromagnetics and transmission lines
• U.S. Person status required (U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)); this role involves access to ITAR- and EAR-controlled technical data

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with antennas for handheld or body-worn devices
• Experience with antennas for UAS or other aircraft
• Experience with MIMO or diversity antenna systems
• Graduate degree in electromagnetics or RF engineering
• Active or prior U.S. security clearance

Candidates should have designed an antenna inside a product enclosure and be able to describe how the enclosure changed its performance.
