Job summary

Matlen Silver is seeking an experienced Ansible Platform Engineer to support a multi-year migration from BladeLogic to Ansible Automation Platform. You will build, design, and administer the AAP, shaping a scalable automation environment.

The project starts with PoC activities and expands into a full implementation, with future OpenShift transitions and deep integration with PostgreSQL and Bitbucket. Strong collaboration across teams is required.

Qualifications

Hands-on experience with Ansible Automation Platform (AAP), including platform administration and configuration.
Experience deploying or building AAP from scratch.
Strong scripting with Python and YAML.
Experience with Linux administration and infrastructure automation.
Familiarity with Bitbucket and automated code workflows.
Experience with PostgreSQL or similar backend databases.
Understanding of risk management, controls, and governance processes.
Strong troubleshooting and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

Build, deploy, configure, and administer Ansible Automation Platform (AAP).
Migrate from BladeLogic to Ansible, including development and cutover activities.
Design platform capabilities and contribute to architecture and features.
Develop automation scripts using Python and YAML.
Support integrations with PostgreSQL and Bitbucket.
Manage automation code and workflows in Bitbucket repositories.
Help evolve the platform toward OpenShift.
Apply governance and risk controls to automation activities.
Collaborate with infra, Linux, middleware, and app teams to deliver automation.
