Job summary

Calance is seeking a Junior Ansible/OpenShift Automation Engineer to design, implement, and support air-gapped OpenShift environments. The role blends Ansible expertise with OpenShift implementation and other related topics, such as security-hardening (STIG/NIST) and the ability to automate Windows workloads via KubeVirt.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional IT experience; 1+ years focused on Ansible automation at enterprise scale.
• Experience with OpenShift Container Platform 4.x installation, upgrade, post-install configuration, and day-2 operations.
• U.S. citizenship required; strong communication and collaboration in remote teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain Ansible Collections, playbooks, roles, and modules for Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform.
• Engineer air-gapped OpenShift 4.x installations: repository mirroring, registry pull-through, and secure image management.
• Integrate Ansible with ACM and OpenShift GitOps to drive CI/CD.
• Build Helm v3 charts and GitOps manifests for enterprise apps.
• Provision Windows VM workloads via KubeVirt and perform post-provision hardening.
• Author runbooks, SOPs, and security checklists; troubleshoot stack issues.
