Job summary

The University of Utah's Utah Museum of Fine Arts (UMFA) seeks a Donor Engagement Manager to lead the annual fund and mid-level donor programs on the campus of the University. The role will oversee face-to-face, mail, and digital fundraising efforts, donor cultivation, stewardship, and donor relations activities across departments and with key partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) + 4 years or a master’s (or equivalent) + 2 years of related work experience.
• Experience in fundraising, donor relations, membership development, or a related field with ability to cultivate relationships and solicit charitable contributions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including donor communications, fundraising appeals, and engagement materials.
• Experience planning and implementing fundraising campaigns, donor engagement initiatives, or special events.
• Demonstrated ability to build relationships with donors, volunteers, colleagues, and community partners.
• Strong organizational, project management, and analytical skills, with ability to manage multiple priorities and evaluate fundraising results.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate annual giving campaigns, including direct mail, email, digital fundraising initiatives, donor appeals, and renewal efforts.
• Develop and implement donor cultivation and stewardship strategies that strengthen relationships and increase donor retention.
• Identify, qualify, cultivate, and solicit gifts from annual and mid-level donors with the Director of Development.
• Support the Director of Development in cultivating and soliciting major/s prospective donors, including meetings and follow-up.
• Manage donor communications, recognition programs, and engagement opportunities that connect members and donors with the Museum’s exhibitions and programs.
• Lead development and production of the UMFA Quarterly publication with Marketing and Communications.
• Plan and implement fundraising and donor engagement events, including galas and donor receptions.
• Coordinate sponsorship development and fulfillment, ensuring recognition and benefits per agreements.
• Develop strategies to increase membership recruitment, retention, upgrades, and donor participation.
• Maintain donor prospect plans and track engagement and fundraising activity to support relationships.
