Job summary

The Texas A&M University System Offices in Dallas seeks an Animal Welfare Project Manager to lead programs focused on research animal welfare and quality of life for animals used in research.

You will develop and deliver training on the 3Rs, advanced human-relevant technologies, NAMs, and collaborate across System Offices to establish SOPs and support accreditation efforts with AAALAC International.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in animal welfare or related field.
• Three years of related experience.
• Willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Manage and direct projects and programs aimed at research animal welfare and research excellence.
• Develop and deliver training content on animal welfare, the 3Rs, NAMs, and related concepts.
• Proactively network across members to raise awareness of research animal welfare and assist with SOPs.
• Consult with researchers on the 3Rs and human-relevant model systems, supporting investigator grants.
• Support member accreditation with AAALAC International.
• Conduct related research and pursue state, federal, and other funding opportunities.
• Promote Texas A&M System animal research initiatives.
