Job description

Position: Animal Research Technician

Overview

We are hiring for a position in Medical Device & Pharmaceutical Companies. This is a contract role with an initial duration of 12+ months, with the possibility of extension. The role involves supporting animal research operations under supervision, ensuring compliance with regulations, and promoting a team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Animal care and enrichment for various colonies, including cleaning and facility maintenance.
  2. Animal handling, observations, and reporting abnormal findings.
  3. Operate and maintain laboratory equipment such as cage washers and environmental monitoring devices.
  4. Assist in training team members and evaluating new technologies.
  5. Ensure accurate documentation and participate in quality reviews.
  6. Comply with all applicable policies, SOPs, and regulations.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Attention to detail and follow-up skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • No allergies to animals.
  • Physical ability to perform demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Use of PPE required.
  • Availability to work weekends and holidays.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; 2 years of experience in animal research or veterinary practice required. Degree in animal science preferred. AALAS certification and basic computer skills are highly desirable.
