Reports to: Service Manager

Schedule: Monday – Friday, hours vary; must be able to work weekends, early mornings, and some evenings

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt/Hourly

Compensation: $27 - $46 per hour

Job Responsibilities: The Service Technician–Mechanic travels to customer locations to install, maintain, upgrade, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, pneumatic, and printing issues for Koenig & Bauer presses. The technician interacts directly with customers, listening to their needs and asking probing questions to prepare for service calls. Effective communication of technical information and resolutions is essential. The technician develops action plans focused on quality and efficiency to minimize downtime and control costs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform mechanical repairs and maintenance on equipment at customer sites, including adjustments, replacements, and troubleshooting.
• Install Koenig & Bauer equipment and sub-supplier equipment according to blueprints from delivery to commissioning.
• Conduct thorough audits on presses, inspecting for worn or damaged parts, emphasizing safety issues, and prioritizing repairs.
• Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues using documentation and resources, identifying root causes.
• Plan and execute repairs, coordinating parts procurement, scheduling, and additional labor if needed.
• Provide excellent customer service, including greeting, listening, informing, and following up with customers.
• Complete accurate records of work performed, parts used, and time spent.
• Adhere to customer policies, safety procedures, and workplace conduct.
• Perform other related duties as needed.

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED; post-high school technical certification preferred.
• Minimum two years of experience in printing, press manufacturing, industrial maintenance, or related field.
• Basic computer skills including email, internet, and office software.
• Experience with hand tools, reading electrical schematics, and CAD drawings.
