The University of Alabama at Birmingham is seeking an Animal Laboratory Specialist I to support specialized ARP areas (gnotobiotic, zebrafish/aquatics, biocontainment, rodent health, and more) with animal care and operational tasks. The role may include weekend/holiday duties and essential personnel responsibilities during weather events.

Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or GED and 1 year of related experience; AALAS certification is preferred.

Qualifikationen

• AALAS certification at any level is preferred.
• Weekend and holiday duty is required.

• Apply general knowledge of animal biology, husbandry, and facility operations to the ARP division.
• Maintain knowledge of training requirements related to ARP and specialty area.
• Serve as specialized area contact and resource for staff and guests.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
