Rutgers University in Newark seeks an Assistant Husbandry Supervisor for the Office for Research to oversee animal care staff and support core services for research involving animals. The role supports grant-funded work, ensures compliance, and maintains high standards of animal welfare.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of relevant experience in lab animal care and hold AALAS LAT certification.

Formación

• Bachelor’s Degree plus 2 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates knowledge in the care and use of laboratory animals.
• American Association for Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS) Certification as a Laboratory Animal Technician (LAT).
• Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills and exceptional judgmental abilities.

Responsabilidades

• Oversee Animal Husbandry personnel under the direction of the Supervisor/manager CMR.
• Assist the Supervisor in preparing schedules for work assignments and related tasks regarding animal husbandry.
• Train and instruct staff in appropriate animal care and facility procedures.
