Job summary

Element Research Group Inc. is seeking a Veterinary and Recovery Technician to perform clinical observations, administer medications, and support in-life study activities for research animals.

This full-time, onsite role is based in Brooklyn Park, MN, with a 1st shift Monday-Friday schedule and occasional after-hours work when studies require it. You will document all activities, monitor post-operative recovery, and ensure compliance with SOPs, regulatory standards, and veterinary instructions.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in animal science, veterinary technology, biology or related field is preferred.
• Experience in veterinary medicine or laboratory animal care is preferred.
• Laboratory animal certifications such as ALAT/LAT/LATG are preferred but not required.
• CVT/LVT/RVT credentials are preferred but not required.
• Strong understanding of animal behavior, clinical assessment and medication administration.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical observations and document findings on behavior, activity, appetite, hydration, incision sites and overall health.
• Communicate abnormal findings to veterinarians and study personnel promptly.
• Administer medications and treatments per approved routes and SOPs.
• Document medication and treatment details accurately.
• Monitor post-operative recovery and provide supportive care.
• Recognize signs of pain, distress or complications and escalate as needed.
• Support in-life study activities including animal handling and sample collection.
• Assist with examinations, treatments, diagnostic procedures and scheduled study activities.
• Prepare animals, supplies, medications and equipment for procedures.
• Review study protocols and forms to ensure timely completion.
• Assist with routine animal care and husbandry as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned based on operational needs.
