Job summary

Fives DyAG Corp. seeks an Animal Research Technician I for a 12+ month onsite contract in Athens, GA. Working hours are Mon–Fri, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, with occasional weekend overtime.

You will perform animal husbandry and health care according to study protocols and regulatory guidelines, maintain documentation, and assist with necropsies and sample collection. • High School Diploma or GED required.

• Responsible for daily animal care, health observations, documentation, facility sanitation, equipment maintenance, animal handling, sample collection, scientific procedures, and assisting with necropsies.
• Works in a laboratory animal research environment under Biosafety Level 1 and 2 conditions.
• May provide guidance to junior team members and participate on site committees and workgroups.

Duration: 12+ Months Contract

Location: Athens, GA 30601 (Onsite)

Working Hours: Mon – Fri, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Weekend overtime required approximately once per month

GMP Experience Required

Responsibilities

• Performs animal husbandry and health care in accordance with study protocols, Animal Welfare Act regulations, NIH guidelines, AAALAC accreditation requirements, and client's policies.
• Responsible for daily animal care, health observations, documentation, facility sanitation, equipment maintenance, animal handling, sample collection, scientific procedures, and assisting with necropsies.
• Works in a laboratory animal research environment under Biosafety Level 1 and 2 conditions.
• May provide guidance to junior team members and participate on site committees and workgroups.

Skills

• Experience working with animals preferred
• Animal husbandry, livestock, veterinary technician, or laboratory animal experience preferred
• Ability to accurately complete documentation and follow SOPs
• Ability to recognize and communicate animal health concerns
• Comfortable working in a research environment and assisting with scientific procedures
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs occasionally and 50 lbs frequently
• Must be able to work in hot, cold, humid, noisy, and physically demanding environments
• Must not have allergies to animals or livestock/feed dust
