Job summary

NAMSA is seeking a Veterinary Technician to join our veterinary care team in Minnesota. You will dispense medications, perform clinical observations, and support animal health throughout study protocols.

The role involves monitoring recovery, performing blood draws, preventive care, and coordinating with veterinary staff to ensure humane and compliant animal care. Experience in a research setting is preferred and certification such as CVT/ALAT is valued.

Qualifications

• AS in Veterinary Technology or 4+ years related experience required.
• Bachelor’s degree in scientific discipline preferred.
• CVT or ALAT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Dispenses medications as prescribed by veterinarian.
• Performs routine clinical observations, charting health status and animal weights.
• Administers start-up medications and monitors fasting and recovery.
• Performs intravenous blood draws.
• Conducts preventive health maintenance including vaccinations and site care.
• Maintains animal care according to study protocols and communicates with staff.
