Job summary

City of Indianapolis is seeking a Foster Program Coordinator to develop and coordinate ACS foster initiatives. You will recruit, engage, and manage foster resources and collaborate with the Medical Manager on veterinary support and immunization schedules.

The role requires independent judgment and strong communication skills, with an emphasis on data management and policy conformity within city/county codes.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with at least 6 months in a related field.
• Knowledge of animal care, dog/cat breeds, micro-chipping, vaccines.
• Strong oral and written communication; able to adapt messaging to audiences.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and Social Media platforms.

Responsibilities

• Organizes and maximizes the effectiveness of foster programs.
• Represents the city during outreach activities.
• Coordinates recruitment, training, placement, and evaluation of fosters.
• Maintains program databases and generates reports.
• Coordinates with veterinary and kennel staff to ensure coverage.
• Counsels foster parents and aids in marketing the program.
