Job summary

Charles River Laboratories in Cambridge, MA seeks an experienced Facility Supervisor for the Insourcing Solutions team at CRADL animal facilities. You will plan schedules, supervise staff, ensure animal care quality, and coordinate with clients.

The role includes QA inspections, housing management, ordering supplies, policy development, and ensuring health and welfare of animals. Requires HS diploma, BA in animal or life sciences preferred, LATG or ICPM CS preferred; salary $90k-$100k; Mon-Fri

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree in animal or life sciences preferred.
• Minimum four years in a laboratory animal facility with 2 years in a supervisory role.
• LATG or ICPM CS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, create, assign, and monitor staff schedules for daily husbandry and study support.
• Supervise animal care staff, including hiring, onboarding, and performance management.
• Monitor staff performance and health concerns; ensure client needs are met.
• Communicate with clients; respond promptly and professionally.
• Provide husbandry or technical backup on dosing and sample collection.
• Inspect housing systems; coordinate movement and housing locations.
• Conduct QA inspections of facilities to meet health and sanitation standards.
• Investigate welfare concerns and implement mitigations.
• Place and receive orders; supervise space usage and supplies.
• Help develop CRADL policies and SOPs.
