Job summary

Mykelly is seeking an Animal Care Technician II in Atlanta, GA to provide daily care for research animals, maintain clean facilities, monitor health, and assist with procedures. You will help ensure regulatory compliance and support training of staff.

Candidates may have a Bachelor's or Associate in Animal Science with relevant lab or veterinary experience, ALAT certification, and a valid Georgia driver’s license. Lifting up to 50 lbs and teamwork are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher with experience in veterinary or animal lab setting.
• ALAT certification or LAT within one year of hire.
• Valid Georgia Driver’s License.
• Lift up to 50 lbs and work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily care for research animals (feeding, watering, cage changes).
• Sanitize facilities and equipment to maintain cleanliness and biohazard control.
• Monitor and record animal health, environmental conditions, and population records.
• Assist with laboratory procedures (blood withdrawal, sample collection, medications).
• Ensure compliance with regulations for animal care.
• Assist in training and supervision of other staff as needed.
• Provide pre- and post-operative care for animals.
• Maintain equipment and keep the facility organized and safe.
