Job summary

San Diego Humane Society is seeking a full-time Behavior & Training Supervisor to lead our Oceanside team. You will supervise staff, oversee behavior program development, and coordinate housing and care to support successful adoptions and ongoing post-adoption outcomes.

The role requires an associate degree and CPDT-KA (or equivalent); a relevant advanced degree is valued. Must have 3 years of hands-on animal-care experience and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required in related field.
• CPDT-KA certification or equivalent required.
• Advanced degree in animal behavior advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Behavior & Training staff and handle hiring/termination recommendations.
• Develop and implement behavior programs, enrollments, and housing/care plans.
• Coordinate transitions from enrollment to Adoptions and provide post-adoption support.
• Prepare case reviews and recommendations for progress or euthanasia when needed.
• Collaborate with leadership and other teams to optimize training and enrichment for dogs and cats.
