Job summary

MarquisConstructionServices is seeking a Coating Painter/Craftsman to perform blasting and coating duties per job specifications. Responsibilities include adhering to OSHA and EPA standards, inspecting for hazards, and preparing/painting various surfaces to Marquis and client specifications.

The role requires following blueprints and color-matching standards, maintaining equipment, and ensuring safe site practices. Attendance and adherence to safety protocols are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must wear PPE on site at all times.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to OSHA, site-specific and MarquisConstructionServices requirements for blasting and painting.
• Abide by EPA environmental standards.
• Inspect jobsite for safety hazards and participate in JSA with painting crew.
• Prepare and paint various surfaces to specifications, matching colors and viscosities.
• Apply coatings to prevent runs, thin spots and ensure smooth finishes.
• Ensure proper movement of finished goods to inspection and maintain spray equipment.

Summary/Objective

ACoatingCraftsmanisresponsibleforperformingblastingandcoatingdutiesasrequiredperthejobspecifications.

EssentialFunctions

• AdherestoallOSHA,sitespecificandMarquisConstructionServicesrequirementsfortheblastingandpainting.
• Abidebyallenvironmental(EPA)standards.
• Inspectsjobsiteforsafetyhazards.
• Participateinsafetypre-jobaudits(JSA’s)withthepaintingcrewtoensureallsafetyhazardshavebeenidentified.
• Conductdailyvisualinspectionsofscaffoldingtoensurestructuralstability.
• Prepareandpaintavarietyofsurfacesincludingferrousandnon-ferrousmetals,aluminumandconcretetoMarquisandcustomersspecifications.
• Workfromnon-complexblueprints,specifications,worksheets,dimension,colorcodes,mixingcharts,tables,verbalandwritteninstruction/information.
• Prepare,matchcolorsandmixstandardsandotherprimers,paintsandcostingstoproperconsistencyandviscosity,usingthinnerssolvents,additives,anaagitatorsasrequired.Selectpressures,nozzles,andcuretimes.
• Prepareandcleanitemsandsurfacestobefinished.Mask,plug,blockfinished,machinedorspecifiedsurfacesnottobecoated.
• Uniformlyapplywetpriers,paints,andwetordrycoatingstopartsandcomponentsandotheritemsusingcaretoavoidoverspraying/coatingandtoobtainasmooth,coveredandevensurfacefreefromrunsandthinspots.Repeatoperationsasnecessarytoobtaindesiredeffectorthicknessofmedia.
• Visuallyandmechanicallycheckfinisheditemsforpinholes,runs,barespots,propercoverage.Refinishandtouchupasrequired.
• Prepareandcoatsamplepieces.
• Ensurethepropermovementoffinishedgoodstoinspectionorshippingarea,cleaningandmaintenanceofsprayapplicationequipment,booths,filters,protectiveclothingandequipmentaccordingtoestablishedpractices.Ensureneededpaintingandcoatingsuppliesareonhand.
• Periodicallycheckwith
• Communicateeffectivelywithcrewmembersandsupervision.
• Cleanupworkarea,supplies,materialsandequipment.
• Attendanceisanessentialfunctionofthisjob.
