Job summary

The Salvation Army - Nashville Area Command is seeking a detail‑oriented helper to support the Angel Tree program. You will assist the public with Angel Tree adoptions, recording each adoption with the Angel ID and donor details.

You will inform donors of gift-return deadlines, answer questions about Angel Tree and other Salvation Army programs, and ensure gifts are labeled correctly with the child’s name and Angel ID, while maintaining confidentiality.

Qualifications

• No formal education required.
• Experience in public-facing roles preferred.
• Must read, write and communicate in English.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Assist people adopting an Angel from the Angel Tree and log each adoption with Angel ID and donor details.
• Inform donors of the deadline for unwrapped gifts.

This position is responsible for:

This includes the Angel’s ID number with info on the adopting donor including that person’s name, address and telephone number. Informs the adopting donor of the deadline when the unwrapped gift items are to be returned. Answers any questions about Angel Tree and other programs of The Salvation Army, calling the supervisor or the office, if necessary, to obtain accurate info. Displays a polite and courteous manner at all times.

• Makes sure that gifts are properly marked with the name of the child and the Angel’s ID number.

• Duties are usually performed seated; however, there is a limited amount of physical effort associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 5-10% of work time.
• Work requires driving a vehicle daily with exposure to the outdoors where there are physical discomforts associated with changes in weather such as rain, cold, snow, heat or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
