Job summary

The Salvation Army in Lawrenceville, GA is seeking a warehouse associate to support the Christmas Center season. You will lift, carry, load and unload donations such as furniture, appliances, clothing and more, and help set up and keep the warehouse tidy.

You will work with donors to promote a positive image, unload trucks, and perform cleanup and organization tasks. Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends, is required; high school diploma or GED preferred, strong physical stamina

Responsibilities

• Lifts and stacks donations in the warehouse.
• Distributes donations to their proper place as instructed in the warehouse.
• Clean and service assigned areas in the Christmas Center.
• Pick up trash, empty garbage containers, and remove all trash to disposal area.
• Maintains good relationship with donors to promote a favorable image of The Salvation Army.
• Unloads the truck at the Christmas warehouse.

Unloads the truck at the Christmas warehouse.Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language. Ability to perform strenuous, heavy work involving the lifting and carrying of heavy objects. Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, and some climbing. Work requires working in a warehouse environment with exposure to fluctuating temperatures and discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.Education:High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred, but not required.Experience:Work requires an ability to follow instructions acquired through a partial high school education. Friendly personality.Must have physical strength adequate to carry and unload materials from truck and in warehouse.Must be able to work independently and must be willing to work shifts that vary from day to night and be on call weekends.
