Job summary

The Salvation Army in Fayetteville, NC is seeking seasonal warehouse staff to manage the Angel Tree Program, recruit and train volunteers, and coordinate warehouse operations during the Christmas season.

Responsibilities include lifting and stacking donations, unloading trucks, and maintaining clean warehouse areas, with emphasis on safety and donor relations. This is a 40-hour per week seasonal position with some Saturdays.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Angel Tree Program and recruit/train volunteers for Christmas operations.
• Coordinate volunteers to ensure staffing meets program needs.
• Lifts and stacks donations in the warehouse and distributes them to proper locations.
• Clean and service assigned areas in the Christmas Center and loading dock.
• Unloads trucks and assists with angel tree pickups from drop-off locations.
• Maintain rapport with donors to promote a positive image of The Salvation Army.
• Perform other warehouse duties and special projects as needed.

Schedule/Hours: M-F 9:00 am - 5:00 pm & some Saturdays (40 hours per week) SeasonalThis position is responsible for the following:Manages the Angel Tree Program; recruits, trains, and coordinates volunteers' work, ensuring adequate staffing to meet Christmas program needs; prepares records and reports for the Christmas program.Key Responsibilities:Lifts and stacks donations in the warehouse.Distributes donations to their proper place as instructed in the warehouse.Clean and service assigned areas in the Christmas Center.Pick up trash, empty garbage container, and remove all trash to area for disposal.Maintains good relationship with donors to promote a favorable image of The Salvation Army.Unloads the truck at the Christmas warehouse.Assist with angel tree pick-ups from the drop-off locations.Perform other related duties incidental to work described herein.OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:Assists in cleaning and maintaining the Christmas warehouse and loading dock area.Assists in working in all areas of the Christmas warehouse operations as needed.Performs special projects as needed.Performs other related work as required.Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:Ability to meet attendance requirements.Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.Ability to perform strenuous, heavy work involving the lifting and carrying of heavy objects.Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, and some climbing.WORKING CONDITIONS:Work requires working in a warehouse environment with exposure to fluctuating temperatures and discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.All employees recognize that the Salvation Army is a church and agree that they will do nothing as an employee of the Salvation Army to undermine its religious mission.High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred, but not required.EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER: VETERANS | DISABLED
