Job summary

Qualifications

• United States citizenship as required by VA policy for physicians
• Degree of doctor of medicine (MD) or equivalent from an approved school
• Current, full, unrestricted medical license in a US state, territory or DC
• Residency training in an accredited core specialty with eligibility for board certification
• Board eligible or board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA)
• Proficiency in spoken and written English

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe anesthetic care to Veterans in the operating and perioperative setting
• Provide anesthesia care in operating rooms and non-OR anesthesia locations
• Participate in preoperative optimization of surgical patients
• Manage postoperative care including ICU involvement
• Supervise CRNAs and anesthesia residents
• Teach residents from the University of New Mexico
• Offer a full range of perioperative care
• Perform other duties as assigned
