Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in Albuquerque, NM seeks a physician anesthesiologist to deliver safe anesthesia care in the operating room and non-OR locations, supervise CRNAs and residents, and participate in preoperative optimization.

The role includes teaching residents from the University of New Mexico, providing perioperative and pain management services, and a Monday–Friday schedule 6:30am–3:00pm with a strong benefits package including EDRP and recruitment incentives.

Qualifications

• MD/DO degree from an approved school.
• Current, full and unrestricted medical license in the United States.
• Completion of residency in an accredited core specialty.
• Board eligibility or board certification by ABA (as applicable).
• Proficiency in English (spoken and written).

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe anesthesia care in operating rooms and non-OR locations.
• Supervise CRNAs and anesthesia residents.
• Participate in preoperative optimization and perioperative care planning.
• Provide anesthesia care and pain management across perioperative settings.
• Teach residents from the University of New Mexico.
• Perform other duties as assigned and support resident education.
