The Anesthesia Technician at a leading medical center plays a crucial role in ensuring the effective operation of anesthesia equipment and supporting surgical procedures. This role requires collaboration with a diverse team and adherence to safety standards, aiming for optimal patient care outcomes. Candidates should have a high school diploma and some experience in patient care or medical equipment management.
The Anesthesia Technician works under the supervision of the Manager, Anesthesia Services, and performs a variety of tasks related to anesthesia equipment and supplies. Responsibilities include setting up, inspecting, maintaining, and calibrating anesthesia equipment, as well as performing specialized treatment procedures that impact the accuracy and reliability of anesthetic processes. The team fosters a culture of cooperation, enthusiasm, and mutual respect, comprising registered nurses, surgical technologists, anesthesiologists, CRNAs, and surgeons, all working towards optimal patient care outcomes, improved service levels, reduced hospitalization length, and cost reduction.
The Anesthesia Technician also coordinates Anesthesia and Auto Transfusion services, providing technical and logistical support for surgical procedures. Adherence to safety standards for patients, staff, and self is essential. Work areas must be stocked, clean, and organized. The technician demonstrates a positive, collaborative attitude and shows respect to patients, families, and staff.
